Our smart world as we know it today is beautifully woven around the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Everything, from productivity and entertainment, actually feels possible and easy to accomplish due to technology.
We are so dependent on the digital DATA to the extent that 1s and 0s have become the Alfa and Omega of our very existence.
The exponential advancement is probably making Leonardo Da Vinci quiver in his grave!
What if?
In retrospect though, don’t COLD chills run down your spine when you consider what would happen in case something went totally wrong?
Imagine all electrical power going BURST around the globe! Wouldn’t the world just STOP in its tracks?
Consider how only a Covid-19 virus turned the world upside down! The ever-present technology somehow took the back seat!
But again, it is easy to forget that current advances in technology have only been with us for just over 50 years. Maybe more time is needed to fully harness the possibilities technology offers.
Before that, (thousands of years for the religious, and millions of years for science) the world was natural and REAL. The man breathed in fresh air and the world was green.
Fast forward to the smart world in the 21st century
The arrival of MEGA computers in the middle of the 20th century, the arrival of the PC in the 1980s, and the arrival of the SMARTPHONE in the 21st century all helped to shape the smart world as we know it today.
It is now a world driven by the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT).
The ubiquitous nature of tech devices has made this possible. We interact with our homes remotely via apps, we have built mega DATA centers which are mined by Intelligent BOTS and communicate via voice assistants and speakers. We are soon becoming ROBOTS ourselves.
The smart world through tech
You probably use or will eventually use your smart gadget to do the following:
- Find your way in the city. You don’t need to cram the directions anymore
- Calculate every transaction, even if it is just 15 + 27!
- Find out all about your favourite wine over the bar room table
- Locate all your friends using Bot services
- Access your music files from the cloud
- Talk to your light bulb
Smart everything
Industrial smart systems too, have been around for some time and will only grow big. Most manufacturing establishments now opt for advanced ROBOTICS at the expense of humans.
What if something went wrong?
The smart world is beautiful until it stops and everything goes BANG! Something always goes wrong! Everything we know about life can come CRASHING down!
Mother Nature has proved through the course of history that disasters will always contribute to changing the human lifestyle.

Fast forward to the future
Some of the most likely events include mega-SOLAR FLARES and storms, earthquakes, and possible collision of the earth with other planetary objects, events that could change the world forever.
In the event of such disasters, it is likely that
- Electricity grid will go down for months.
- Satellites may get fried.
- Data bank centres may just crumble.
- Major coastal cities will go under water.
- Communication will stop! Just like that.
Then WHAT?
Possibly a blank world.
Or a return to INNOCENCE.
Possibly a world RESET.
